On 9th May, the School of Sports Science and Engineering at ECUST formally signed a cooperation agreement with Sichuan Chengxin Tianfu Education Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ‘Sichuan Chengxin’) to jointly establish the ECUST-Chengxin Research Institute of Health Science and Engineering. Haifeng YAN, member of the standing committee of the university party committee and associate dean, attended the signing ceremony and delivered remarks. The ceremony was presided over by Mei DU, associate dean of the School of Sports Science and Engineering.
On behalf of the university, Haifeng YAN expressed gratitude to the enterprises that have consistently shown concern and support for the development of East China University of Science and Technology's educational endeavours. He noted that the university's 12th party established a strategic framework centred on modernisation, digitalisation and intelligentisation, green development, and internationalisation, alongside a developmental layout focused on new energy and new materials, as well as comprehensive health and safety. He hopes the school will seize this opportunity to engage in in-depth collaboration with enterprises across multiple domains, including talent cultivation and technological research and development. This will advance the integrated innovation of sports health science and engineering through the synergy of industry, academia, research, and application, actively e the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and better serve the development of a sporting powerhouse.
At the signing ceremony, Wenfang XU, secretary of the party committee of the school, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the institution. Dean Xinming YE signed the cooperative agreement with Sichuan Chengxin as the representative.
It is reported that the research institute will align with national health strategy requirements, focusing on three key areas: cultivating innovative sports talent, upgrading the broader health industry, and facilitating the commercialisation of scientific achievements. It will strive to establish a high-calibre platform integrating industry-education collaboration, university-enterprise partnerships, and scientific research innovation, thereby comprehensively advancing the coordinated development of industry-academia-research collaboration within the field of health science and engineering.
At the meeting, the school also signed high-quality sports talent cultivation agreements with three enterprises. The parties will further collaborate in areas such as establishing industry-academia-research practice bases and integrating industry with education, thereby injecting fresh momentum into the development of sports education.
