On the morning of 24th May, the 2025 Shanghai Sunshine Sports Grand League Wushu Exercise Competition was grandly held at the sports centre of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Martial arts athletes from 16 undergraduate and higher vocational institutions, including East China University of Science and Technology, East China University of Political Science and Law, and Shanghai Normal University. The event was jointly organised by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Administration of Sports, and the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, with implementation by the Shanghai Student Activity Management Centre and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Under the guidance of team leader Jun HAN, head coach Xiuting SHI, and three assistant coaches, 24 participating students of the ECUST underwent over a month of rigorous training. Demonstrating solid foundations and seamless coordination, they secured first prize in the pairs boxing routine and second prize in the men's group boxing routine. These outstanding achievements fully showcase our students' spirited demeanour and exceptional competitive prowess.

This competition not only provided a platform for university martial arts enthusiasts to showcase their skills, but also ed the wider adoption of martial arts within campus communities. It served to highlight the enduring appeal of traditional culture while simultaneously fostering students' resilience and teamwork ethos.
