The National Aerobics Championships commenced in Shanghai from 10th to 19th July 2025. Organised by the Gymnastics Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Aerobics Association, the event drew 138 teams comprising over 1,400 athletes from 30 provinces and municipalities nationwide. The competition featured five categories: Senior, Youth, Junior, Pre-Junior and Children's, encompassing both competitive and aerobic disciplines. This diverse programme provided a showcase for participants across different age groups and skill levels.

This competition marked the inaugural national tournament appearance for ECUST aerobics team, where they achieved commendable results: Mengfan WENG, Grade 24 student specialising in Sports Training, distinguished herself in the Elite Women's Individual Routine category of the adult division. Through her solid technical foundation, highly infectious expressiveness, and execution of challenging movement combinations, she secured the runner-up position and was successfully awarded the title of ‘Master Sportsman’. Notably, the routine she performed was entirely self-conceived and choreographed, with Coach Shuxuan YAN providing crucial guidance during the development process to enhance its competitive edge.

Yirun WANG, also from the Class of 2024 Sports Training, demonstrated outstanding competitive form and artistic expression during the event, ultimately earning the title of ‘Master Sportsman’. Xuandong LI, meanwhile, secured the title of ‘National Level Athlete’ through his consistent performance.

The outstanding results achieved at this national competition not only serve as recognition of the individual efforts of the team members, but also demonstrate the collective strength of the ECUST aerobics team.

In the future, the ECUST aerobics team will continue to uphold this spirit of exploration and perseverance, shining brightly in more competitions and achieving further glory!
