The second phase of the 2025 China Table Tennis Super League concludes! East China University of Science and Technology achieves outstanding results.

On 28th July, the second stage of the 2025 China Table Tennis Super League concluded successfully in Xiamen, Fujian. The ECUST club, comprising six students – Yidi WANG, Xiaotong WANG, Yake LI, Jiayi LIANG, Xiangyu ZHANG and Mengyan JIN – fought hard against their opponents and delivered an outstanding performance. Following the conclusion of the second stage, they currently sit third in the women's team group standings.

ECUST club secured a season-opening victory in the first stage by defeating defending champions Shandong Luneng. In the second stage, they faced formidable opposition from teams boasting multiple national team players and renowned athletes from Japan and South Korea. In their opening match, they fell to Shanghai Longteng. The following day, the players regrouped and mounted another challenge against strong opposition, securing a 3-1 victory over Chengdu Gaoxin Ruoshuiju in the second round, with Yidi contributing two points.

In this round of matches, Wang Xiaotong, who had just secured the women's doubles title at the XXXII Summer World University Games, overcame physical fatigue and injury to partner teammate Yake LI and clinch the women's doubles victory for ECUST.

In the third round of matches held that day, the ECUST team secured a 3-0 victory over Huangshi Hua Xin. Yake partnered Xiangyu to clinch the women's doubles win, while Yidi defeated Japan's  Miyuu Kihara bronze medallist in the women's doubles at the ITTF World Championships Doha 2025 - in the singles encounter. Subsequently, Xiangyu took to the court once more to overcome her opponent, securing the decisive point for ECUST.

On the final day of competition, ECUST faced Shenzhen University Club, featuring world-class players such as Yingsha SUN, Man KUAI and Miu Hirano. After four hard-fought matches, they ultimately fell to their opponents, concluding the second phase of the Table Tennis Super League with a record of two wins and two losses.

The Chinese Table Tennis Club Super League represents the pinnacle of competitive table tennis in our nation. Since its establishment in 1992, the ECUST club has remained a prominent presence on China's premier table tennis competitive stage. In 2012, it achieved the historic feat of becoming the first university club to claim the league championship title.

The third stage of the 2025 Chinese Table Tennis Club Super League will be held in Urumqi, Xinjiang from 29th August to 1st September. We wish the ECUST students every success in showcasing their skills and achieving further excellence!
