From 10th to 15th August 2025, the 23rd National University Athletics Championships were held at the Huangshi Olympic Sports Centre in Hubei. Representing the pinnacle of Chinese university athletics, this year's event saw record participation, bringing together over 5,300 athletes from 490 universities nationwide. The East China University of Science and Technology athletics team, led by Coach Jing YU, achieved remarkable results.
Yue PAN from Class 210 of the International Economics programme secured the bronze medal in the women's Group D 100-metre event with a time of 11.80 seconds. This outstanding result came after she overcame physical fatigue following consecutive appearances in multiple national competitions.

Keqin ZHANG of the International Economics Class 220 demonstrated outstanding prowess in the women's 400 metres D category, securing fourth place.

Xianghua YU of Sports Training Grade 242 secured sixth place in the fiercely contested men's D-group 400-metre hurdles event.

This summer, whilst their peers were immersed in holiday revelry, the faculty and students of ECUST Athletics Team remained on campus for intensive training in preparation for upcoming competitions. Competing against the nation's finest athletes, ECUST sportsmen and women continually surpassed their personal bests. Their achievements stem not only from individual talent and relentless dedication, but also from the scientific guidance of their coaches and the unwavering support of the university.
